Are We All God? Why the Bible Says Otherwise

THE ACCUSATION

As I explain in my book.

Jesus was accused of blasphemy because He made Himself equal with God (John 10:33) and because He forgave sins (Mark 2:7). The Jews understood: only God can forgive sins. So if Jesus wasn’t God, they believed He deserved stoning. If He was God, then His words and works were true. There’s no middle ground.

Here’s the logic that I explain in my book:

The son of a dog is a dog.

The son of a bird is a bird.

The son of a man is a man.

The Son of God is… God.

That’s why they wanted to kill Him — they understood His claim. He wasn’t vague, and they didn’t misunderstand what was going on.

And here’s the pattern: every false system denies that truth. Islam, Judaism, Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, there’s a really long list. Whether they call Him a prophet, an angel, Satan’s brother, or just another man, the strategy is the same: deny that Jesus Christ is God come in the flesh. (1 John 4:1–3)

This is the dividing line: either Jesus is God in the flesh, or He was the greatest blasphemer in history. There’s no middle ground. That’s why I wrote Wicked Darkness — to show people the truth the world keeps denying.

There’s a popular idea floating around in New Age circles: “We’re all God made flesh. God is a body, and we are the cells. Our mission is simply to remember that we are divine.”

It sounds poetic, even comforting. But it’s not biblical. In fact, it’s a dangerous distortion of the Gospel message.

Jesus taught love, yes—but He also taught repentance, truth, and judgment. To collapse the Creator into the creation is to miss the very heart of Christianity.

Here’s why this matters.

1) Image Is NOT Essence

Scripture says we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), not of His essence. If we were literally “pieces of God,” then every time a human sins, gets sick, or dies, God Himself would be sinning, getting sick, and dying. That destroys His holiness and His eternity (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10–11).

If “God is the body and we are the cells,” then when cells die, parts of God die. But the Bible says He “only hath immortality” (1 Timothy 6:16).
He is Creator—we are creatures. He gives life; we receive it (Genesis 2:7; Psalm 103:14).

2) “God is love” Does Not Mean “Love is God”

Yes, the Bible says “God is love” (1 John 4:8). But reversing it—“love is God”—turns a quality into a deity.

Warmth comes from fire, but warmth isn’t fire. Likewise, love flows from God, but He is far more than a feeling. He is also holy, just, and sovereign (Isaiah 6:3; Psalm 89:14).

Make “unconditional love” the ultimate reality, and you erase God’s justice.
Yet Scripture says plainly: “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

3) Jesus Did Not Teach Self-Divinity

Jesus didn’t come to awaken us to our “inner god.” He didn’t come to entertain us. He wasn’t trying to become a motivational speaker. He came preaching repentance (Mark 1:15) and the kingdom of God. He forgave sins (Mark 2:5–7), accepted worship (John 20:28), and declared, “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58).

At His trial, He identified Himself with the Son of Man from Daniel 7 and the Lord of Psalm 110.
That’s why the charge against Him was blasphemy (Mark 14:61–64).
It’s crystal clear to those willing to examine the evidence.

The apostles confirm this truth:

“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9).
He is “the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person” (Hebrews 1:3).
“Being in the form of God… he humbled himself” (Philippians 2:6–8).

This wasn’t coded mysticism. Jesus openly claimed what only God could claim. He made Himself equal with God.
You and I cannot make that same claim. If you claim to be equal with God most would call you deluded or dangerous—certainly not divine.

4) The Incarnation Is Unique, Not Universal

“The Son of God is God, just as the son of a dog is a dog.” Exactly. But not because all flesh is divine—because God chose to become flesh (John 1:14).

The eternal Son entered real history, through a real lineage, lived a real life, died a real death, and rose again to be seen by eyewitnesses (1 Corinthians 15:3–8). That’s not a state we all share—it’s a unique miracle we are invited to believe (Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 2:14–17).

Even when Scripture says believers are “partakers of the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4), it means we share God’s life and holiness by grace—not that we become God in essence. That’s adoption, not absorption (Galatians 4:4–5).

5) Reality Check: Death, Judgment, Resurrection

We’re not eternal sparks with spiritual amnesia. Drive by any cemetery. Death is real. Judgment is real (Hebrews 9:27).

And resurrection is not a metaphor. It is the historical event by which God declared Jesus to be the Son of God with power (Romans 1:4).

If everyone is God, then evil collapses into God, and forgiveness becomes God forgiving Himself. But the gospel says the opposite: we are sinners, God is holy, and Christ is the mediator who reconciles us by His blood (Romans 3:23–26; 2 Corinthians 5:19–21).

6) Salvation: Not Remembering, but Receiving

New Age spirituality says, “Remember who you are.” The Bible says, “Recognize who He is.”

Salvation is not self-realization—it’s reconciliation. It’s repentance and faith in the crucified and risen Lord (John 3:16; Romans 10:9).
God’s love doesn’t erase His justice; the cross satisfies it.

7) The Bible Is Jewish, The Messiah Is Jewish, Christianity Is Jewish

The apostles weren’t dabbling in mysticism. Jesus wasn’t blending Eastern philosophies. He was sent to the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 15:24).

When a Samaritan woman begged Him to heal her daughter, He first called her a “dog.” Today, He’d be canceled for such words. But it proved His mission was covenantal—not vague spirituality. And yet, when she humbled herself and believed, He healed her daughter.

As I explain in my book, this encounter shows salvation isn’t self-generated. It’s received by faith in Him alone.

The Jewishness of Jesus anchors Christianity in historical covenant, historical realities, the Jews under Roman occupation in a real location, not mystical abstraction.

In Summary

We’re in God’s image, not of God’s essence.
“God is love,” but love is not God.
Jesus didn’t teach self-divinity; He claimed deity and called for repentance.
The Incarnation is unique to Christ.
Death and judgment are real; resurrection is God’s answer.
Salvation is received, not remembered.
The gospel is rooted in Israel’s Messiah, who came to destroy the works of the devil.

So yes—the Son of God is God, just as the son of a dog is a dog. Not because flesh is divine, but because God became flesh.
That’s not mythology—it’s the mystery at the center of history.

It calls for a choice: trust the living Christ who saves, or settle for a soothing idea that cannot… Which will you choose?

The time is at hand. The dividing line is drawn. The lies are loud—but the truth still speaks. And the Spirit still says, ‘Come.’
