70 AD 2.0 – “I’m Back, Jesus Isn’t.”
It’s the sequel nobody asked for. Okay. So, I wrote a blog post here just before this one, and I realize that most people will read it, shrug, and say, “Oh, that’s just theology. Who cares if some folks believe Jesus already returned in 70 AD?” Like they’re reading just another “Bible nerd debate” with no real-world consequences, so this is my follow-up post to show you why it matters.
In simple terms, let me explain it to you in a way that I would tell a seven-year-old in children’s church: bad theology always breeds bad consequences. And this one — the 70 AD lie — is one of the most dangerous, because it doesn’t just twist prophecy, it twists reality.
1. It Lowers Your Guard
Jesus said He would come “as a thief” (1 Thess. 5:2; Rev. 3:3). But who would be caught off guard? Not the ones watching. Not the ones who actually believe what He said and didn’t dismiss it to feel comfortable.
No — it’s the ones who stopped watching. The ones who convinced themselves He already came. Those are the ones He warned about:
“And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matt. 24:51, KJV)
That’s not the mild and meek Jesus handing out participation trophies. That’s judgment.
If you think He already came and is secretly ruling, you’re not looking for Him. You’ve put the Bible down and bought a ticket to Disneyland. You’re wide open for the counterfeit — who’s going to look more like Captain Hook than Christ.
2. It Paves the Way for the Impostor
If you’re convinced the kingdom is already here, you’ll mistake the fake Christ for the real one.
Paul warned:
“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.” (2 Thess. 2:9, KJV)
Revelation says the whole world will “wonder after the Beast” (Rev. 13:3). It also says, “he deceiveth the whole world” (Rev. 12:9).
Sound familiar? That’s how it went down at the cross — crowds fell apart, walked away, chose the wrong side because the real Christ didn’t fit their expectations. History repeats.
If you think you’re living in Jesus’ new Wonderland now, you’ll mistake the Beast’s kingdom for a better trip with Alice when he shows up. Because you won’t expect a showdown between the real Messiah and the fake one — you’ll already think you’re home.
3. It Justifies Corrupt Kingdoms
When people believe Jesus is already secretly reigning, they baptize the kingdoms of men as if they’re the kingdom of God.
History proves it:

The Crusades: Priests told Christians they were doing God’s will by slaughtering Muslims and Jews — as if Jesus’ “kingdom of peace” could be spread by the sword.

The Inquisition: Torture chambers, iron maidens, and burnings at the stake — all justified by “the church ruling for Christ.”

Modern Preachers: Some claim America is the “New Jerusalem,” twisting verses to wave the flag over endless wars.

Papal Declarations: Popes throughout history have literally crowned kings and declared, “Christ rules through us” — while Scripture says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world” (1 John 2:15).
That’s not Christ’s kingdom. That’s men dressing up their empires in Jesus’ name.
4. It Warps Politics and Culture
When people believe Christ is already reigning:

They justify compromise with corrupt rulers, because “Jesus is ruling invisibly, so it must be His plan.”

They stop resisting evil systems, because “the kingdom is already here, so what difference does it make?”

They excuse injustice because they’ve divorced faith from reality.

They even justify wrecking the planet — “Jesus will just make a new one anyway.”
And here’s the kicker: this isn’t just old history with Crusades and Inquisitions. It’s happening right now.

Preachers twist verses to crown America as God’s ‘ambassador to the world’ — while turning a blind eye to corruption rotting in our own backyard and ‘marketed to the world’ like Babylon 2.0.

Politicians act like Israel can do no wrong, as if every move is blessed by default — forgetting the Bible says only Christ’s throne in Jerusalem seals the deal.

Leaders on both sides talk like they’re building the kingdom of God here and now, when in reality they’re tripping on power like they’re doing shrooms in the Halls of Congress.
That’s how nations slide into tyranny while Christians hum lullabies about a kingdom they can’t see.
5. It’s Exactly What Jesus Warned Against
Jesus warned again and again:

“Take heed that no man deceive you.” (Matt. 24:4)

“If they say… behold, He is in the desert; believe it not… in secret chambers; believe it not.” (Matt. 24:26)

“For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matt. 24:27)
A secret, invisible kingdom in 70 AD? That’s the exact thing He told us not to believe.
6. It Steals Jesus’ Identity in the Digital Age
In the digital world, we all know how easy it is for our identity to be stolen. Someone hacks your account, runs scams in your name, and the world thinks you did it.
That’s exactly what false theology is doing to Jesus. It’s identity theft on a cosmic scale.
They’ve turned Him into a cartoon savior — an ‘invisible king’… supposedly ruling while the world burns down around us. That’s not the Christ of Scripture. That’s a fake profile.
The real Jesus made it clear:

He holds “the keys of hell and of death” (Rev. 1:18, KJV).

He went to prepare a place for us (John 14:2–3).

And He’s returning to destroy the same kingdom that nailed Him to a tree.
That’s not a metaphor. That’s not symbols from some cult handbook. That’s truth and reality.
Bottom Line: This Isn’t Harmless
The 70 AD lie doesn’t just distort prophecy. It creates a “generation” of believers trained not to expect Christ’s return — and therefore ripe and more than willing to embrace the counterfeit.
That’s why it matters. That’s why it’s dangerous. And that’s why I had to stop what I was doing today and tear it down.
